Representative Experience
- Extensive experience in business and commercial litigation including representing plaintiffs and defendants in business fraud cases.
- Extensive experience in federal litigation, including representing companies in trade secret and intellectual property litigation.
- Extensive experience in SEC and FTC receivership matters, including: 1. Presently serving as collection, liquidation and disbursement agent for the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas - Waco Division, in Securities Exchange Commission vs. Great White Marine & Recreation, Inc., et. al.; 2. Served as monitor for FTC in FTC v. Electronic Financial Group, Inc. in the United States District Court, Western District of Texas, Waco Division; 3. Representation of receivers in numerous other Securities Exchange Commission receiverships; 4. Representation and advice to a Federal Trade Commission receiver, in operating an ongoing business, and enforcing the receivership injunction against third parties.
- Extensive experience representing car dealerships, in all types of litigation.
- Extensive experience in environmental litigation, representing plaintiffs and defendants.
- Extensive real estate, oil and gas, landlord/tenant, trade secret and software/intellectual property litigation experience.
- Extensive transactional experience in representing individuals and business in sales and acquisitions.
- Trained as a mediator and has successfully mediated dozens of cases. Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching alternative dispute resolution, mediation and negotiation, Texas Wesleyan School of Law, 1999-2001.
- Extensive experience representing Christian churches and organizations, including: 1. Representing a local congregation in an action by adjacent homeowners seeking to enjoin the lights on its athletic fields as a nuisance; 2. Representing a worldwide television ministry on its day-to-day functions, including issues involving contracts, acquisition, and intellectual property.
- Served almost six years as a Judge Advocate, including service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma (from 1980-1984), and awarded the Army Commendation Medal for success in over 300 courts-martial. Service at Fort Sam Houston, Texas (1984-1986) as a Brigade Judge Advocate for the Fifth Recruiting Brigade (SW), and awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for service to the command in supporting 12 recruiting battalions covering a geographical area of 14 states.
